About Medecsta
What Medecsta is
Medecsta is an independent, non-commercial project: a single place for biomedical research tooling and explanation, covering drug discovery, clinical research, and nutrition and food science.
It is not a company, an institution, or a registered organisation. There is no team, no funding, and nothing for sale. It is maintained part-time by one person alongside full-time doctoral work, which sets the pace at which it grows.
What this project is trying to do
One long-range aim, and three near-term ones chosen because a single person can actually deliver them:
- Close the gap between the clinic and the bench: research follows what has been published, but the first sign of a real problem usually shows up in a consultation, or in a patient's own account of it, and is never written down anywhere a scientist would find it. The aim is a place where those observations can sit alongside the science — clearly marked as unproven — so they can prompt the research that tests them. Not built yet; see Goals for what that would take.
- Free the everyday tooling: the calculators and converters a lab needs daily should not sit behind a licence fee. Dose conversion and lab maths are live; more will follow.
- Cover the whole span: drug discovery, clinical research, and nutrition and food science — anything that meaningfully influences human health, in one place rather than four.
- Write at two levels: the same subject explained once for people managing their own health, and once for clinicians and researchers reading in their field.
Who maintains this
Medecsta is written and maintained by one person: a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) graduate, currently a doctoral scholar at the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI) in Lucknow. That background spans both sides of the gap this site is about — clinical pharmacy on hospital wards, and preclinical drug development in the lab.
The doctorate comes first. Medecsta is a part-time undertaking around it, which is exactly why nothing here is promised on a date.
Affiliation note: CSIR-CDRI is where the maintainer studies. The institute does not run, fund, review, or endorse this website, and nothing published here should be read as an institutional position.
